REPORT

The Department of International Studies and History organised training for first year HEP students about online research tools on 12th February 2019.The training was helmed by the librarian of CHRIST (Deemed To be University),Mr Sreekumar Nair. For the students, training was extremely informative and gave insights about the data bases that students can access from the University website. The session also elaborated on how the students can access different journals and articles through the university website. A brief explanation was also given on how one can access the ProQuest website where students can access articles that are recent and informative. The importance of citation and how to cite an article or journal or book was also discussed. The difference between the two websites of Jstor and ProQuest was as explained. How to make use of library resources and how to create an account for remote access was taught. The speaker highlighted the importance of reading books and newspapers.
